Misaki Sushi of Bethany
Route 1 in York Beach Mall next to Between McCabes and Grottos South Bethany, Delaware 19930 302-539-0500 |
![]() Co-owners Kiyomi Yamanaka and Shin Konno (pictured at right) both come from Japan and are expert sushi chefs. The two chefs met while they both worked at Ocean City’s renowned Yokozuna restaurant, before Yamanaka left to become head chef at the Cultured Pearl in Rehoboth. Technique, presentation, speed and, of course, taste are the criteria by which sushi chefs are judged in competition. Yamanaka should know. He recently competed in Tokyo’s famed Sushi Olympics, so called because they occur every four years and in Japan carry the same level of prestige as the international sports competition. Yamanaka won the national sushi competition at Washington, D.C.’s Cherry Blossom Festival five years ago and was selected to represent the United States. Competing against three other representatives from the U.S. and 168 chefs from Japan, Yamanaka was awarded a silver medal. When his prize-winning sushi was sliced open, it revealed mirror images of the American flag — red, white and blue, stars and stripes. Yamanaka's wife serves as the hostess and is extremely gracious and helpful. South Bethany Beach is extremely lucky to have such a great restaurant in our backyard. Highly Recommended!!! |

Mancini's Brick Oven Pizzeria and Restaurant
907 Coastal Highway Fenwick Island, DE 19944 800-213-4224 / 302-537-4224 |
![]() If you like home-style italian cooking then this is your place. Large servings - really good pasta dishes. In-season always a line. Not the greatest wine list but don't come here to drink, it's the food that keeps people coming back - including us. Reasonable prices. Recommended!!! |

Liquid Assets
9301 Coastal Highway Ocean City, Maryland 21842 410-524-7037 Liquid Assets Website |
A great place. Situated inside a wine store this restaurant/wine bar/store offers really
good food and the biggest wine list around - the entire store. For a corkage fee you can
choose any bootle in the store for your dinner. Lots of good selections at reasonable prices.
For really cheap try the Grilled Cheese sandwich. The in-season crab cakes are some of the best
in OC.
They've just added a few additional tables but you still need to get here early to get seated, no reservations taken. The risotto dishes are good and for around $12 their grilled cheese sandwich with frys is really good - trust us on this. Highly Recommended!!! |
Grove Market
12402 Saint Martins Neck Rd Bishopville, MD 21813-1671 (410) 352-5055 |
The best restaurant on the Eastern Shore and even though it's technically in Bishopville - it's close enough to the
OC to be considered part that scene - even though you will feel like you've entered another world at this restaurant.
There is no menu - waiter describes all the dishes - in painstaking detail.
It is located inside an old home that was a smokehouse many years ago. In keeping with that they usually have
several smoked fish appetizers. It is very low-key and unpretentious.
Speciality is an incredible Crisy Duck dish with great crispy skin and tender, juicy
meat. They also serve delicious horseradish encrusted fish dishes (salmon or trout) that are awesome.
I thought the salmon was better but maybe it was just the evening. They also have a rack of lamb with a raspberry
sauce that is really good. The portions are on the large size as well so be prepared to share or take home a
doggy bag. The garlic mashed potatoes are awesome.
Fantastic homemade desserts (try the coconut cake or the key lime pie).
The wine list has greatly improved recently with good selections from California, Burgundy and even a couple nice Rhones. They have a $12 corkage fee as well. If you go that route make sure to bring something really special so as not to be rude while embarrassing yourself along the way - the staff does know what you're drinking. Plan to tip on the cost of the wine and not the corkage fee. It's incredibly hard to get into this restaurant during the season. Place a call and hope for the best. Expensive but not crazy. Cash only - no credit cards accepted. Highly Recommended!!! |
Fager's Island
201 60th St Ocean City, MD 21842 20001 (410) 524-5500 |
Great bar scene. Great View. The "high-end" restuarant is very good - not great. Had a very good
Chilean Sea Bass. Wine List is very good with some hidden gems if you know how to hunt.
The views of the bay are incredible and they play Tchaikovsky's 5th as the sun sets - which is something that just has to be experienced. Decent music and a fun bar crowd. Recommended!!! |
Galaxy 66 Bar & Grille
66th Street, Bayside Ocean City 21842-3043 (410) 723-6762 |
Galaxy 66 is a fun place with a great feel and live music on the weekends. They have a Skye Bar
during the summer for rooftop dining and drinking. Best of all, they've got a very serviceable wine-list
recognized by both Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. Plenty of good things on the list and some hidden
gems if you know what you're looking for. Don't miss their Thursday "half price bottles of wine" deals.
They have one of the best cheesesteaks on the Eastern Shore. It has won the "Best Cheesesteak Around" contest two years running. It is made up of slow-roasted rib-eye, perfectly carmelized onions, chiffonade romaine lettuce, house-made pepper relish mayo, and last but certainly not least, delicious melted white cheddar cheese all piled in a fresh house made roll. If ordered off their menu, it comes with a pile of house made fries; one of the most delicious meals in Ocean City for only 10 dollars!! Other tasty dishes from Galaxy 66 are their seared scallop appetizer or the seared tuna, served creatively with delicious, fresh accents. One of their best entrees is the pistachio encrusted rockfish with grilled lemons, shaved asparagus salad, and braised potatoes rockfish doesn't get better than this! |
Old Mill Crab House
12407 Coastal Hwy Ocean City (410) 250-2722 |
Our favorite place to go for crabs in Ocean City - and that's saying a lot.
For $25.95 you can have all the steamed crabs, corn on the cob, fried shrimp, chicken and hushpuppies you can
eat. As soon as you step inside the door of the Old Mill Crab House in Ocean City, just yards from the Maryland state
line, you'll know you've entered a world of serious scarfing. Patrons shuck corn and pick crabs smothered in Old Bay,
tossing husks and shells into a big can right next to their seats. Rolls of paper towels and bottles of Parkay
squeeze-butter sit atop tables layered with brown paper. A symphony of claws cracking and mallets whacking surrounds
you.
If you like fresh blue crabs, good cold beer, and a great atmosphere then this is the place for you. Great service and even better food. Even though it seats 300 it is still hard to get in during the season so get here early. Highly Recommended!!! |
Dumser's
12305 Coastal Highway 124th Street & Coastal Highway Ocean City, Maryland 21842 (410) 250-5543 |
BEST BREAKPLACE PLACE IN OCEAN CITY (OR BETHANY) as voted by us!!! This place has the best breakfast of nearly
anyplace we've been - anywhere. Fantastic hot cakes, eggs, french toast, and on and on.
If you're looking for a place to do breakfast this is it. They also serve great ice cream and have a dinner
menu but to be honest - we've only ever done breakfast and it is awesome!

Summer House Saloon
228 Rehoboth Ave Rehoboth, 19971 302-227-3895 |
Great hangout bar. This restaurant has classic American cuisine. Lots of good beer on tap. Decent winelist. Lots of TV's
for checking out the hot sports event of the evening. But what
sets Summer House apart is the scene! A great crowd of locals hanging out and having fun.
The food will definately work with jumbo lump crabcakes, tender barbecued ribs and chicken, just-ground burgers, veal and wild mushroom meatloaf, and monster steaks are just a few of the restaurant's specialties. A varied selection of salads, soups, starters and yummy side dishes round out the menu, and specials change daily. Recommended! |
Cultured Pearl
301 Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 302-227-8493 |
Great Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar. Incredible selection. Great Service. You Gotta Go!!! If the food doesn't get you
then the roof deck really will. With many little gazebos that you can sit and enjoy their sushi, and
even a fish pond that runs throughout the setting. Great feel to the entire restaurant.
If you're into Japanesse cuisine then you'll absolutely love CP. Incredible rolls, lots of variation with their sushi and yummy tempura. Everything is always incredibly fresh. Presentation is creative and inspiring. Gets very crowded during the season. Highly Recommended! |
Blue Moon
35 Baltimore Avenue Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 302-227-6515 |
Located less than 2 blocks from the ocean in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; the Blue Moon has been consistently
named in the top ten restaurants of Delaware. Housed in a turn of the century, beautifully restored
Victorian beach house with award winning cuisine and wine list, the Blue Moon has been a Delaware favorite
for over 28 years.
We had our Anniversary Dinner here and absolutely loved it. Good food - a very good wine list - good service. Love the feel and look of the place. A bit on the expensive side but would return in a flash. Recommended! |
Arena's Deli
149 Rehoboth Avenue Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 (302)227-1272 |
This is the best sandwich shop in Rehoboth - if not the Eastern shore. This place is my idea of a perfect deli/bar combo. Lots of beers on tap but the best thing going is the casual food and great sandwiches and wraps. The food is typical american diner style. Great Reuben's and other sandwiches. Thursday nights are half off sandwiches. It makes me miss Rehoboth just thinking about it. It is sort of hard to find as it is off one of the little side streets in the middle of block off of Rehoboth Ave. If you're looking for a casual atmosphere for a sandwich and maybe a beer or two - this is the place! Great old fashioned crab house. Great huge hard shell crabs and delicious crab cakes.
Try the Maryland style crab soup - yummy. From the owners of the Bethesda Crab Shack.
